OT Non-Military Shootout Videos
I wanted to post some videos for the newer members of the forum to watch to see fairly good shootouts on film. The rules for these videos are,
1) These were not blockbuster hits that EVERYONE and their brother may recognize. 2) These are non-military for the MERC side of the forum (there is a list of military shootouts that you can search in the forum). 3) The idea is that there is a realistic level of movement, an accurate portrayal of reloading/weapon manipulation, and a realistic level of hits to misses in the shootout. 4) These are all modern shootouts with no 20s gangster shootouts or old western shootouts. Here's the GOLD STANDARD in LE, non-military shootouts from the movie HEAT. https://youtu.be/ZL9fnVtz_lc The rest are in no particular order. 1) From the movie RONIN: The main chase/firefight scene. https://youtu.be/4yaesF6ZHDo 2) From the Devil's Own: https://youtu.be/5821rjs3o5Y 3) From Den Of Thieves: The final shootout. https://youtu.be/NkK40iib8uE 4) Before john Wick there was Collateral: The club shootout scene. https://youtu.be/d9_n6wwkIHM 5) One of the most underrated movies is Wind River: The Camp shootout. https://youtu.be/OeaSmH2MsGA 6) From the Way Of The Gun: The Cantina shootout with the bagmen. The movie also has a number of great lines like "There's always free cheese in a mousetrap." https://youtu.be/vAvVMTbUKCA 7) One of my favorite shootouts but with a sad ending. For those who haven't seen it, the kid who shoots him is the one he's trying to save. I give you The Veteran: The final shootout scene. https://youtu.be/rV1qDpyyAMo If any of the links don't work, just GOOGLE them on YouTube. They are all there. Came here to ensure you had Heat and Ronin; was not disappointed.
Here's the Larry At The Movies playlist where Larry Vickers breaks down a few of these scenes and some others: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUJq...uNbBnmZNqa82-e - C.

Both the made for TV movie and the training video of the FBI/ Platt & Mattox 1986 Miami shoot out are on You Tube.

If you know of a good modern shootout scene, post those bad boys. What I like about these shorter videos is that they help a prospective GM visualize how the action in a combat might go.

Cops & Robbers
I'm not sure if they qualify as non-military, given the nature of black ops, but I really dig the shootouts in Sicario.
The shootouts in End of Watch were pretty good too, IMHO (although how and why backup is so slow arriving during the climactic shootout, I don't quite buy). -

+1 for Sicario. The border shootout was intense.

Great movie. Josh Brolin's character was spot-on in my experience.

Let's be clear here, the border INCIDENT was not a shootout... It was SF massacring cartel shooters. A "shootout usually involves an exchange of gunfire. The only person in the incident who was close to getting shot was Emily Blount... by the Mexican border agent... but she smoked him instead.

I really liked him in no country for old men too. I was going to include the hotel firefight from No Country, but I couldn't find a suitable video for it. The two uploads I did find were either too dark or very grainy.
