Topographic Maps
I know Google earth is an excellent mapping resource, but I was hoping anyone had link(s) to various topographic maps for basically anyplace you can think of that are easily printable. I find it an excellent addon when you (as GM) are gonna explain how steep a mountain is etc... and its a bit easier to write footnotes, units buildings not on GE etc when it is in mono (black and white.)
HQ used to use TOPO USA - but they don't ship outside the US. And maps from other contries is just as interesting.

I would suggest looking for USGS topographical maps and Google earth. I know that Google maps integrates with the USGS data base so I would assume that Google earth would as well. This is of course assuming you are looking for United States information.

Topo Map Resource
Greetings to all,
I am a new member that has been lurking here for a while. I found a map layer to add to Google Maps that links not only to USGS maps, but also the Army Map Service collection at the Perry-Castaeda Library at Univ of TX. These maps cover a LARGE portion of the world in good detail. The only caveat is that they are fairly old maps, from the 40s, 50s & 60s... Still good stuff though... http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/ubbthread...te_id=1#import Cheers, Chris |
