Default Memorial

My mother, Helene Ingram, a survivor of Hitler's concentration camps and a former anti-Tito partisan, passed away about two weeks ago at the age of 84.

I'm sorry for your loss. I'd have liked to listen to her stories. She sounds like a heck of a person to learn from.

My condolences Paul. Another member of the greatest generation gone, but what they did and the sacrifices they made will live.

Sorry for your loss Paul.

She sounds like a lady who's lived a life with quite a number of stories, some of them painful but all of them worth listening to.

My condolences as well Paul. Was she part of the Croat diaspora?

Not as such, but her parents were also partisans, against the Nazis, along with most of her village. The village was rounded up, and what happened to them is unknown, but there were no one left who my mother knew when the Americans liberated the camp.

Interesting note there -- my mother said that the first American she met sounded like someone trying to talk with a mouth full of bubble gum, but he didn't have any gum!

Paul,

I'm so sorry to hear about your mother. I hope that we can provide some level of support to you in this trying time for you.
