Whoops just noticed that the 1 Polish free Legion is not allied. That is why it is in a pre-Alpha stage.

Where have you placed the 2nd Marines? As part of the offensive they were to have conducted amphibious landings in the area between (roughly) Gdansk and Elblag - across the river esturies of northern Poland.
See http://forum.juhlin.com/showpost.php...5&postcount=14 which was written after many hours of intensive research of the canon resources. With them there, I'm guessing they might actually be the closest NATO unit to the 5th....

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Bialog...41&z=8&iwloc=A Out of the 610 canon units I have processed so far, I was able to find some specific location for like 585 of them. In general this does not represent a specific point in time just a location where a unit can be pinned down. In general I went with the earliest dates I could find for a unit. I appreciate any input though and will make tweaks. I will be honest I first decided to build this system when I expected to have complete data from the DC group and the ability to ask questions. At best partial data is all that is going to be possible from canon information. Last edited by kato13; 06-23-2009 at 01:43 AM. |

The positions marked for XI Corps are at the end of the offensive once everything fell apart and the Corp tried to withdraw back to Germany. While researching the above "history" of the offensive, I could find no reason why the 2nd would not have completed their landings before the 5th were hit, in fact it's my considered opinion they were one of the first units to move with the task of both securing the coastline as well as protecting the northern flank of the 8th (and the offensive as a whole). Only once the offensive was deemed to have failed due to massive Pact counteroffensive would they have withdrawn, effectively abandoning the 8th and the scattered remnants of the 5th.

If anyone wants to submit a variation I will be happy to add it to the system. I am probably going to add Mohoender full OOBs as a selectable option. Currently I have Canon (All but Mexico i think), DC working group (Czech only), and Turboswede (Poland only may work on Mexico but units are generically placed) Last edited by kato13; 06-23-2009 at 02:13 AM. |
