My intention was to bypass the village and get onto the mission. The village details came from a new purchase, "Solders, farms and refugees" and i had trouble having my PCs move past the village knowing there were messages of help.
I was a bit torn, stay on track, or do something knowing whatever we did was like short term and could result in reprisals against the village. In the end i decided the PCs would act. Great question re what happens to the village, and i have been giving it some thought. * leave the future of the village unknown? * roll for an outcome? * despite the despot being killed, the result may not improve for them (welcome to T2K!). In the end i decided if my PCs come back this way, they could call in on the village and i will roll then for the current state. And determine what the PCs may do then. * if still under evil rule, they could spend more time trying to improve village life * if prospering, they may call in and create an ally of the village
