You do know that you can still buy Shermans and Walker buildings surplus. There was also a military vehicle restorer who was selling his Walker Bulldog for $90,000...had to get rid of assets with his pending divorce. Too bad I didn't have the $90,000...would have been great on that daily drive into work!

Lee,

I bet this cost $1000, and made a six year-old child very happy. It would be nice to have a real tank if I could afford it, and you can buy a surplus T-54/55 for cheaper than ninety large, but where would I park it? Not gonna fit in the parkade, for sure! =)

I have five dogs, so I need more interior room. Maybe an M-8 Greyhound -- the 37mm gun would discourage tailgaters. Naw, that wouldn't work -- no one's successfully managed to teach me to drive a stick. And my mother would have to be the gunner. And I'd have to lift them over the side -- lifting a 70 and a 90 pound dog over my head is beyond my abilities anymore.

You know, I remember when I used to put on my ruck by lifting it over my head and sliding my arms through the shoulder straps...and not inconsiderable ruck weights. I'm getting old.

A village with one of those would be a hell of a shock for some marauders in T2K

Tigger,

Or some marauders with one would be a force to recon with.

If I recall, Eric (Bigehauser) ran a T2K set in southern England and some marauders/deserters got ahold of a Tiger tank from Bovington, I guess. Don't know how hard it would be to make new ammunition, with the right know-how.

It's quite amazing the sheer number of Tanks/AFVs that are in private hands, just within the US. There is even a "touring company" that makes the rounds of parades and re-enector events with five M-3 Stuarts...and those things are FUN to drive!

Maybe you should look into a BTR.

Belated Merry Christmas everyone. Sorry, I flew to the other side of my continent for five days and went straight back to work when I got back.
