Jordanian Tracked APCs and Norwegian Tracked APCs have been greatly rewritten and updated. The version of the OT-62C with a pair of turret-mounted AT-3 ATGM launchers has been added to the OT-62 entry in International Tracked APCs. The Polish Tracked APCs page has been totally rewritten, with the various Polish MT-LB versions combined into one entry and expanded.

A Glossary for Ground Vehicles has been added; this page will give explanations of vehicle entry terms, vehicle equipment and functioning, and other terms used in the vehicle pages. Note that I have put this up in an in-progress form as yet and it is still very much a work in progress; in particular, many explanations of vehicle equipment must still be put in. But I hope it will help some people for now.

In US Grenade Launchers, a note about the Rippel Effect XRGL-40 has been added to the Milkor USA M-32 entry.

In French Rocket Launchers, the LRAC-89 has had its entry notes expanded somewhat. In addition, some rearranging has been done; the ABB has been combined with the APILAS entry, and the ACIP-300 entry has been combined with the LRAC-89 entry.

In Croatian Antimeteriel Rifles, the RH-ALAN RT-20 has had its notes expanded considerably, and its ROF adjusted to take into account its method of reloading.

In South African Antimateriel Rifles, the PRP NTW-20 has been replaced by the Truvelo NTW-20 entry; the NTW-20 entry has been repl;aced by the MTW-20-82, and the new 20mm HS-404-firing NTW-20-110 rifle has been added.

In German Assault Rifles, the HK-416 has been updated to include the optional 12.5" barrel.

In South African Assault Rifles, the Truvelo Raptor has been added.

In Yugoslavian Assault Rifles, the Zastava M-21 has had a note added about the "Soldier of the Future" version.

In Belgian Pistols, the FN FNP entry has had the FMP-45 Tactical version added.

In US Pistols D-F, A note has been added to the DoubleStar 1911 entry about the DoubleStar 1911 Combat Pistol.

The Charter Arms Dixie Derringer was added to US Charter Arms & Charles Daly Revolvers.

In the Truvelo SG-1 entry in South African Sniper Rifles, the CMS (Counter Measure Sniper) version was added. The silencers for this series of rifles were also given separate listings instead of showing the silenced version of each rifle in the first table in the entry.

The IO SSG-2000 has been added to the US Sniper Rifles G-L page.

The AK Blyskawica was added to the Polish Submachineguns page.

In South African Submachineguns, the silenced version of the BXP as well as the BXP Tactical Pistol was added to the Truvelo BXP entry.

The TDI Kriss Super V has been moved from the US Submachineguns J-Z page to the Swiss Submachineguns. The entry describes why I did this.

In US Semiutomatic Sporting Rifles F-I, the IO STG-2000-C was added.

In US Semiautomatic Sporting Rifles Rp-Rz, the Ruger SR-556 was added.

The House Rules page has had some things added; notes about my preferred way to resolve small arms damage, firing saboted rounds through weapons with muzzle brakes, and some "quick-and-dirty" rules for weapons converted to automatic fire.

I have removed the section about what I hope to do with these pages in the future. Who knows what I'll actually have time for, and I don't want to appear to be making promises I can't keep. My life is complicated enough as it is. In addition, I often have the odd wild idea here and there; some work out, some do not.

Virtually the entire US Tracked APCs page has been expanded, updated, and rewritten. The FMC/GDLS M-2 Bradley remains the same, and the FMC/GDLS M-113 has had only it's prices modified (they were too low).

The Yugoslavian Tracked APCs page has been updated, expanded, and rewritten.

In US Antimateriel Rifles A-L, the Barrett M-90 has been incorporated into the Barrett M-82A1 entry, and a few more notes on its development added.
In British Assault Rifles, the L-85A2E and LEI SA-80 variants have been added to the Enfield L-85 entry.

In Croatian Assault Rifles, the VHS had been added.

The LEM-15A4 entry has been moved to the Armalite LEM-15A4 entry in US Assault Rifles A-C, and the AKU-94 entry has had some notes about the Century International version added.

In Argentine Pistols, the Bersa Mini Firestorm entry has been replaced with the Bersa Firestorm entry, and expanded.

In Belgian Pistols, the HP-35 75th Anniversary Model was aded to the HP-35 entry, and the prices adjusted somewhat.

In Brazilian Pistols, the Taurus PT-709 and PT-738 have been added.

In US Pistols B, the Briley Platemaster and El Presidente entries have been combined. Some extra notes were added to the Bushmaster Carbon-15 Pistol.

In US Pistols C, the CMMG M-7 has been added. The Cobra Patriot entry has been expanded.

In US Pistols D-F, the Ed Brown Executive Carry and Executive Target entries have been combined, and the Massad Ayoob Signature Edition added to that entry.

In British Revolvers, the Mark 5 under Webley Pistols has been expanded. The .455 British Service round has been renamed the .455 Webley Revolver Mk II round. The range of the .476 Enfield round has been adjusted. The Webley RIC and Bulldog entries have been combined.

The US Revolvers O-Rem page, accidentally removed, was restored.

In Italian Double & Single-Barrel Shotguns - Beretta, the Beretta SV-10 was added.

In US Double & Single Barrel Shotguns W-Z, The Winchester 101 was added.

In US Special-Purpose Firearms, more information was added to the Tunnel Weapon 5-2 entry.

In US Bolt-Action Sporting Rifles - Remington, the Remington 700 XCR was added.

In US Semiauto Sporting Rifles J-M, the STG-E4 was added to the MSAR STG-556 entry.

I have discovered that the "Arm Gun" and the later, civilian Bushmaster Pistol are different variants of the original design, the IMP. I have therefore changed the name of the entry to "IMP/Bushmaster" and relabeled accordingly. This is in Best Submachineguns That Never Were.

The more generalized House Rules have had the combat-related house rules removed, and these have been placed on a separate page, House Rules for Weapon Combat. I have added some rules for adding bipods, sharpened the rules for laser aiming modules, and added reflex sights. In House Rules, rules for Sprinting have been added.

The Egyptian Wheeled APCs page has been rewritten and updated.

In British Bolt-Action Sporting Rifles C-Z, the Milcam, Milcam HB, Comcan, and Snicam entries have been combined and corrected.

In US Grenade Launchers, the General Dynamics Mk 47 Mod 0 Striker has been added.

In Rimfire Small Arms Rounds, the .44 Henry Rimfire was added.

The out-of-date Grenade Launcher Rounds page has been replaced with the one that was supposed to be there. (The proper page was on the site all along, but the link pointed to the old page, which should have been removed.) The incorrect 40x47mm Russian Low-Velocity HEDP was removed (there is no such thing). The 40x53mm NATO High-Velocity HEAB and PP-HE-SD rounds have been added. (Note that I consider this page to be still incomplete.)

I have recently began working on the Shotgun Rounds page, but do not expect to see it soon. (In short, the 12-Gauge rounds are problematic, since there are so many different types of 12-Gauge rounds other than shot and slug, and I'm still not sure how I'm going to handle this. And don't even bring up chokes!)

I had to squeeze in another update, to US Grenade Launchers. The sight I had listed on the Milkor USA M-32 was wrong, and I fixed the reference.

Paul,

I noticed the entry for the Enfield Sten is doubled. That said, I was curious if you wanted to add there was a prototype for a Sten Mk IIS with night-vision that was developed but never deployed. Something of a technical curiosity, of course.

(I have a picture of a British soldier using one, with an IR lamp under the barrel and a scope mounted on top. There is a power cord of some kind going from the scope to a back-carried battery pack. War Monthly magazine, Issue #34, 1976.)

I fixed the duplicate Sten entry. Do you have a picture for the Sten IIS with night vision equipment? I'll add a note like I did for the M-1 Carbine version with night vision equipment, but probably not an individual entry on the tables.

Paul,

I don't have a bed scanner, so I took a picture and uploaded it. My apologies for the poor quality!

Agreed, this doesn't require a new entire entry but a footnote at most.

It's definitely smaller than that monstrosity they tried to mount on the M-1 Carbine.

Having the battery in a backpack would help reduce bulk I think. It's also obviously designed for close range only so that would reduce the need for a spowerful IR light.

I was thinking about why they mounted advanced gear on a POS like the Sten, I guess the Mk. II was more reliable than the Mk. I, it would only be used at short range so there was no need for a full-power rifle. Further, a suppressed SMG in tandem with IR night-vision would also allow for a kind of "stealth" weapon, neither seen nor heard at night.

Probably just an experiment, like the one they mounted on the M-1 carbine. The British already had the predecessor of the Sterling, the Lanchester, in limited service at the time, plus the EM-2 was in the preliminary design phases (which I still think was a kick-ass rifle firing a kick-ass cartridge).

Paul,

Agreed on all points. I was more wondering why the Sten instead of one of the other weapons you mention. Testing the EM-2/Taden MG:

Portuguese Wheeled APCs and Romanian Wheeled APCs have been rewritten and updated. The RN-94 has been removed from Romanian Wheeled APCs; it will reappear later in Best APCs That Never Were, as both parties involved seem to have pulled out of the project.

In US Revolvers - Smith & Wesson 10-30, the Model 629 with a 2.625" barrel has been added to the Smith & Wesson 29 entry.

In US Special Purpose Firearms, the American Derringer 1, 7 and 10 entries have been combined, new chamberings added, and some corrections made. In the American Derringer 4 entry, some new information has been added and the entry corrected. In the American Derringer 6 entry, some new information has been added, a chambering added, and the entry corrected. The American Derringer DA-38 has been added.

In US Bolt-Action Sporting Rifles - Savage, the Model 110BA has been added to the Savage 110 entry.

In Swiss Submachineguns, the 6.5mm CBJ chambering has been added to the Brugger & Thomet MP-9.

In Best Battle Rifles That Never Were, the Winchester Machine Rifle was added.

I have bowed to email pressure and put in PDF downloads. Please note the cautions at the top of the page. The download page is at PDF Page. There is also a link on the Home Page.

Most excellent site so far, I've been visiting it for years, back in the days of pictures even !

I have two questions/requests if you need suggestions (I know, not likely but I figured I'd try):

In German Tanks you mention the Canadian Leopard 1 is highly modified and covered in Canadian Tanks, but there is no such page. I see You did cover the Canadian Leopard 2A6M in the German page, just wondering if you will be adding the C1 and/or C2 Leopard 1's ?

Second, just wondering if you're going to tackle the new German Puma IFV ?

Look forward to all the new stuff and updates, great work !

Oh, I guess I screwed that up. I screw things up a lot.

Second, I don't know. Eventually, I guess.

No worries, the site is amazing and jam-packed. I'd be lost in seconds if I were trying to keep track of and maintain it all !

I'm working now on the C1 and C2, but they'll be part of the German Tanks page instead of a separate Canadian Tanks page, in a separate section of the Leopard 1 entry. Then I have to get some info on the 2A6M version of the Leopard 2A6. Just touching base.
