Hey folks..

I am not sure what you all fell bout Google Earth but I have stumbled upon some GREAT information about mineral production in the WORLD. Havent found the coal / oil / NG maps yet but...

You should try it...

Specific locations Oil Production data is very valuable so all the best data costs money. I have been searching literally for years and only have partial data for about 16 states. There is no national database for this so you are left to the whims of the states to get info. For example the public data for Pennsylvania (IIRC though it might be Ohio) is only available if you go to their State Mineral department offices.

Here is a thread where we discussed some of the data I have
1997 US Oil production by state

I put together an archive of some of what I have for oil and minerals here. Generally it breaks down by country but I think California is broken down by field (due to more stringent environmental rules)

The mines should have info near NYC the Oil does not.
