Default Tanks at the Iron Curtain, 1946-1990

Osprey's New Vanguard series has a recently published 3 volume study of Cold War armor. I don't own any of them at present, but I'll probably pick them at some point.

Vol's 1 (1946-1960) and 2 (1960-1975) are already available (both averaging 4.5 stars on Amazon) and Vol 3 (1975-1990) is releasing in October.

Back in 1989, Osprey released Tank War- Central Front NATO vs. Warsaw Pact under the Elite line (that one- a 2000s reprint- is on my bookshelf. I bought a copy in '89 but traded it away after the Cold War seemed like a quaint memory, and before I rediscovered T2k).

Zaloga is a good author and analyst. I wonder if Osprey is gilding the lily a little in producing not one but three installments of this-given how many other publications are out there concerning armor during the Cold War? Think about how many enormous coffee table books were cranked out (many of the quite good) "back in the day."

I liked Central Front by Zaloga-the scenario at the beginning is interesting-although things could hardly have gone better for NATO and could hardly have gone worse for the Soviets IMHO. Good writing though.
