Default OT: Failed Obs roll

I'd always considered myself fairly observant, but it looks like I may have to reconsider that. Apparently for most of the last year there has been a cannabis factory operating out of the house next door and the first I knew of it was when drug squad arrived!

And the neighbours never even offered to share...

In my defence the house is over 100 feet away, and we live on a bit of a hill, so there wasn't much hope of me smelling it out. Half a million quids worth of gear between the house next door and another factory they hit yesterday.

Three years in a Vermont college is enough to get that too.

I manage a student bar with an all student staff. I'm normally pretty good at spotting it too - I'm guessing it was a scale thing as they reckon they missed the biggest part of the harvest, but still got approx 400 plants!

Was it in a greenhouse?

"Hey, we're growing it for fiber... you know we're really weavers and need the cordage..."

Hey spoting someone smoking pot and spoting a full production plant is an entirely different mater. So far I can tell when someone is smoking or is alcoholic. I might have missed that too.

I think the cops fumbled their roll on this one!!!

Quote:
A vacant Molson's brewery in a Barrie, Ont. industrial park has been found to be housing one of the province's largest marijuana grow operations ever discovered.

"It is huge. It's the largest indoor operation that any of us have ever seen," said Ontario Provincial Police Supt. Bill Crate. "We encounter a lot of indoor operations and certainly being the OPP, a lot of outdoor operations, but this is the largest one that we've ever encountered."

Over 100 police officers moved on the operation shortly after midnight Friday.

The building is 125,000 square feet and three stories high. Police won't say how much of the plant the operation covers, but they will say it's massive.

Ten people were arrested.

In my neighborhood, a pot-growing operation was only uncovered because the family in the house went away for the weekend, and the lamps over the plants set the house on fire. The firefighters were amused, and called over their brothers in blue.

I wish I could have seen the residents' faces when they came home, and found the house burnt and a summons tacked to the remnants of the door....

They recently cut a very very very large feild of the weeds in the river bottom below my house. <about 150m> and this week we had a brush fire in the area.

Now, imagine if the fire had occured prior to the police cutting down the plants? Half the city would have been "feeling good."

In some neighborhoods in Barcelona, are occurring a lot of breaking ins to steal "maria plants" from flower pots some people is allowed to grow for their private use.
Most of the time they only steal the plants, not even money or cell phones.

What is the world coming to?

Brings new meaning to the term "joint operations"

The more people are stoned in the world, the easier it is for us non-stoners to take advantage of them...
