Colonial Expansion Post TDM?

So now that most governments are gone and all hell has broken loose, would certain countries, like France maybe, start a "colonial expansion" program again?

"Still pissed that Jamaica is a free country and not a colony still, take it back!"

Would France turn on Spain/Portugal and take over? Kenya now a US Colony since the 173rd is the only force left?

In the V1 expanded timeline (via Traveller:2300) France reintegrates lots of former colonies into the French Union after the Twilight War, including parts of North Africa and Central/South America, until it's virtually an empire in everything but name. Generally speaking though, there's more of large countries breaking up into smaller ones (China and Germany being the most significant ones).

Is there a good source of all that timeline stuff for 2300 or is it just the main rulebook that gives all that background?
