Default Unpublished/planned GDW modules

Does anyone have knowledge of GDW products issued stock numbers (such as Armor) but were never produced before GDW closed? Alternatively have any module briefs or manuscripts ever surfaced from the GDW Library as what-might-have-beens? I have seen references to another Florida module and a never-published Challenge magazine issue. Any other module briefs out there somewhere maybe?

The most notable one is Frank Frey's Lions of Twilight (I'm not sure if that was an officially-assigned title or a later fan construct), which dealt with NATO forces in Kenya and surrounding areas. You can find some threads on the topic here and here, as well as Raellus' fan extrapolation on it here.

On DriveThruRPG, the Guide to Twilight: 2000 Version 1.0 cites two unpublished modules for second edition: Death on the Vistula and Warsaw Phoenix. They were intended to be 2e reworks of 1e modules (respectively, Pirates of the Vistula and Ruins of Warsaw) rather than new content.

Hi ToughOmbres:

Teg is being too modest, as usual, as is Rae, one of the moderators here. The following is a no-$#!& GDW approved (i.e. Marc Miller) module released since GDW shut down in the 90's. So perhaps when you say, modules out there, this qualifies... as PACNW, Rooks Gambit, and the Korea Sourcebook might as well....

Thanks, Spartan. I appreciate the publicity. OP and I have been having an interesting side conversation about certain technical aspects of Pacific Northwest.

I had to do some digging for my saved copies, but Wayne over at Wayne's Books (who is a damn fine bookseller and GM and deserves your business) has some archived information about The Game, the mega-scale game that GDW staff played to develop the timeline between the Twilight War and 2300AD:

http://waynesbooks.com/TheGame.html

He also links to a Tripod site (amazingly, still active!) that has a rules outline for The Game:

https://stalexone.tripod.com/gg2/2300game.htm

I recommend saving local copies of those pages in PDF in case they disappear some day. I don't know if GDW ever planned to develop and package The Game as a product, but at the very least, it's an interesting look into their history.

Default The Game

You are absolutely correct-Wayne's T2k group has some great things online.

The Game-wow. Had never heard anything about it before. If John Astell was involved I know it was an interesting concept. Our group played GDW's Europa series some and Astell was a great designer.

Neat bridge between T2K and Traveller.

Default The Game

Keep in mind, Ombre, it was a bridge to Traveller 2300 (later changed to 2300: AD to remove confusion) which was their 'harder science' SF that feels more like an Aliens or Outland universe rather than an Asimov / Star Wars like vast empire in Traveller.

Neat stuff in that universe - a France dominated European faction, a Chinese faction, and an American faction that was the late bloomer of the new space race.

I used to get Challenge in the mail: ISTR their future modules planned included a Korea Sourcebook (which we have now, even if it's quite a bit late..) Frank Frey has mentioned Lions of Twilight about the 173rd Airborne Brigade in Kenya (the Africa Sourcebook has that).
