Default Swedish military manuals , maps and other documents of interests.

Good evening, after 16years of military service and a twilight 2000 player since 1994 ish I have accumulated a ridicule number of manuals, books some maps and other education material from the Swedish armed forces.

Mainly from the branches that I have worked (Airforce, Mechanised, Air defence and military hospital. It is huge amounts of book and some are duplicates (more then once) and some are not.

Now with an apparently younger (relatively) Twilight 2000 crowd out there is maybe the time to do something with all this materiel. I will talk with some people at work to found to what is the rule regarding the copyrights and how to “acquire” a license to reproduce this material or share it. It has been done by other companies so I would not be impossible with the right connections.

Default RBS 70

"RBS 70 (Robotsystem 70) is a man-portable air-defense system (MANPADS) designed for anti-aircraft warfare in all climate zones and with little to no support from other forces. Originally designed and manufactured by the Swedish defence firm of Bofors Defence (now Saab Bofors Dynamics, since 2000). It uses the RB 70 missile which is also in use in a number of other Swedish missile systems."

These pictures comes from the Swedish RPS 70 company manual from 1991.

Its both pluton and company level descriptions and also the Swedish Air defence system as a whole.

Default Swedish BMP 1s

"Sweden purchased 338 Soviet manufactured ex-East German BMP-1s in mid-1994[6] and an additional 12 in 1996. They gave the vehicle the designation 'Pbv 501' (Pansarbandvagn 501). With Czech specialists, all Pbv 501 IFVs were upgraded to Swedish Army standards (Pbv 501A) from 1996. A few were upgraded further to serve as command vehicles. There were 340 vehicles in service in 2006."

This is the manual for PBV 501in an infantry Brigade for the swedish Army and is from 1999. The brigade had either pbv 501 or the swedish 302.

From Swedish Wikipedia ( Google translate)

Norrlandsbrigad NB 85 was an organized war unit of brigade size that existed between 1985 and 2000. The unit was adapted for combat in roadless terrain. The units had their main war tasks within the upper Norrland military area (MILO ÖN) until 1994, when the focus of the Armed Forces' invasion defenses shifted from invasion across the land border in the north to attacks on "central parts" such as the metropolitan regions. The units lost some of their specialty in connection with this, due to access to road networks, where wheeled units can maintain a higher combat rate. Organization NB 85 was a further development of the former Norrland unions with organization NB 63 and NB 69R.

This Swedish manual is from the year 2000 and is for the NB units.

WOW!!!

That's a ton of material! Impressive.

I was disappointed in TW2k by the dearth of material on Sweden. In my campaign, I had Sweden declaring war on the Pact after repeated border violations including a strike by Backfires escorted by Flankers that over flew Sweden for an attack against a carrier battle group. That was the start of things really going south, and in March Sweden declared war on NATO's side after subs violated their territory evading Danish frigates while laying mines.

Hybris hi,

I know your original post is rather old now, but I wonder if you have gathered anything on the Alvis Stalwart Amfibiebil 101 on your travels. Perhaps you would be kind enough to share anything on them with me?

I used to drive Stalwarts in Germany, some 40 years ago.
I've been researching their full history since Lockdown in 2020, and trying to get information on the Amfibiebil 101s.

I have a web page dedicated to the Amfibiebil 101 here, which I'm still working on.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
