One thing I'd like to see us try to do is to come up a better firearms system for the game. Not a complicated one but one that genuinely reflects the properties of the weapons. I guess you could easily get too complicated but for instance in some cases weapons that seem to be have different properties are suggested to be identical in the game stats.
