The was the Queen of many nations of the Commonwealth also, including both of the countries with which I hold citizenship. All the current and ex military members on this forum from Canada, Australia and New Zealand will have sworn their oath to Her Majesty.

My deepest condolences to Her Majesty's bereaved family, friends and nations. With her departure several eras now truly have ended: The era of European empires, their demise and the immediate postcolonial phase as well as a life full of dedicated service to the people.

May she find peace and be reunited with her husband, whom she dearly missed as I understand.

Long live the king!

I learned the other day that the Queen was the last world leader who was a World War 2 vet. I knew she was a vet, but not that she was the last one. Another member of the Greatest Generation gone.

To those who miss and mourn her, my condolences, to those who do not, be respectful of her mourners please.

Indeed. She joined the Territorials as soon as she turned 18, against the wishes of her father, the King.
