Default I need targets for a test.

I am testing code for the clustering of MIRVs for my nuclear effects map. I need targets for my demos. First 3 to post a response gets to play military planner and obliterate one city.

Go!

Yes I know it's not PC.

Just make sure you give enough warning to get the friendlies out (but don't worry about the French ).

lat:40.41674 long:-3.70325 added to the list. The 10x 550kt hit will donut the country I expect.

I read a really odd comic set in Texarkana when I was a kid. I never realised it was a real place.

It was a quiet morning in Baghdad when Ramjam decided it would make a worthy target.

It's day got progressively worse.

Examples
Single 500kt warhead.

Three 500kt warhead MIRV cluster

Four 500kt warhead MIRV cluster

Six 500kt warhead MIRV cluster

Eight 500kt warhead MIRV cluster

Ten 500kt warhead MIRV cluster

I will get to Marc's and Paul's putative strikes in a little bit.

What happens when you hollow out the center of Spain?

Not quite a donut but a 10x500KT strike certainly leaves it's mark.

While MIRVs were needed at Baghdad and Madrid, I think they're a wee bit overkill at Texarkana. ONE airburst over the state line drive and POOF.

Hey Paul,
Why the anamosity for Texarkana?

So one 500Kt set to ground burst makes a mess.

Three does the job nicely and four or more is just overkill.

I had thought the formulas I used were for airburst but I will need to double check that.(Edit checked and they do appear to be the optimum altitude formulas). I am going to redo a good portion of the math anyway.

I originally took the formulas from
http://www.carloslabs.com/node/16

But now they have improved it to include overpressure and fallout. Guess I have more work in front of me.

Interesting. Pretty colors!

But if you really want to sink your teeth into some juicy targets, try Moscow.

Or, of a more military place of importance (because I want to see what it would take to mess me up nearby), try to take out the missile silo grid near Malmstrom AFB in Montana. I'd want to see how many missiles would be left after a MIRV hit that area.

just for total political incorrectness how many nukes would be needed to achieve the iranian presidents wish of removing israel "from the face of the world"

and can it actually be done without slaughtering the entire region
IE stay in the lines so to speak

Well...it's the place I ended up after living my teenage years in Hawaii, where I had left behind a lot of dear friends. And Texarkana was a real culture shock -- it's a "big little town," with small-minded morals, prejudices, ideas, and most of all, they don't like "strangers." I wasn't just a duck out of water, I was a duck in the Gobi Desert. Those yokels actually told me I had an accent! I don't have any identifiable accent; my "accent" is a composite of all the places I've lived in my life. Texarkana is like a ghetto for white trash!

Well I guess I will agree with you. My daughter lived there for a while and that was her impression also.

Sounds like a fun place remind me to add it to my vacation list - I'm sure they'd make me welcome
