Default Interesting documents

TiggerCCW UK 07-13-2008, 05:12 PM I was just browsing through Sub Brit and came across these. They may be of some use to some of us.

UK Civil defence in the 1980's

Governing Britain after the bomb

thefusilier 07-14-2008, 02:53 AM Saw these before, quite interesting. Very nice to help get a picture how life might be like when running a campaign. There was a German one very similar to this floating around but I lost it. Using a translating site it was almost as good as this one.

dude_uk 07-18-2008, 03:29 PM It kind of makes disturbing reading regarding the armed forces presence in Britain after the Bomb. I.E almost nothing. And how quickly Local Goverment centres would be overrun with no military and probably heavy police desertion and lack of resources makes a UK slide into anarchy a little bit more realistic.

If you'd like to read up a little more about internal UK Defence matters during this time track down a copy of this book shows a break down on how local goverment would respond to the situation.

Defence of the nation (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Defence-Nati...6416298&sr=1-3)

The British army would have been VERY stretched in the 1980's, whilst i expect everyone uses a pre 'Options for change' British army. Has anyone else had a pre WW3 expansion?

Thanks Tigger...good to be back. The real World has been keeping me busy(and to a certain extent still is) but I'll be around from time to time...(and am still trying to write my own Survivor's Guide to the United Kingdom)...have sourced a lot more research material since I first started, so plan to try and tweak some of the stuff in the UK Orbat at some point in time...in hindsight am concerned that I have a) made HMG forces too strong...and b) made the whole country too organised and not anarchaic enough!!
