Cdnwolf 03-28-2012 03:58 PM

Any room for an Canuck... in EST and available Tuesdays?

M-Type 03-28-2012 04:21 PM

Cdnwolf: Yes. That will just about push the party back to a 7, which is gonna be my limit.

Kota1342000: Still not sure if you are in or not?

Okay, here's my sheet and the back story.

Background:
As part of the security force for the 7th Army's IRBMs, the 2-4 Infantry spend most of the early stages of the war on the move with the rest of the 56th Artillery Command dispersing their Pershing II missiles to their launch sites. After the nuclear exchange, however, the surviving artillerymen were converted to infantry joining the 2-4 Inf to form Task Force Redleg. Len joined the battalion before the war and was a Sergeant by the time the new 'Task Force' moved east into combat.

The artillery, not being trained well for field operations let alone infantry combat, surprisingly did a decent job as front line soldiers managing to at least not be rendered combat ineffective. However, when the hammer of the Soviet counterattack hit the XI Corps most of the remaining redlegs were killed. Len's squad was accompanying a supply convoy when the battalion was hit. He managed to extricate the convoy and head back towards Kalisz where most of the squad dispersed in an attempt to make their way back to Germany.

Task Force Redleg
-2/4th Infantry
-1/9th Field Artillery (Pershing)
-3/9th Field Artillery (Pershing) (Formed from 2nd and 4th battalion survivors)
-55th Support Battalion (+38th Signal battalion)
-193rd Aviation Company

BTW I have almost every module in PDF format.

Looks like your group will have an Ukrainian deserter from recon squadron of the Motorized Rifle Regiment. Since he is a deserter his equipment and money allocation is quartered because he left his unit with very little on him...

M-Type 03-28-2012 05:57 PM

Cdnwolf: Sounds like fun.

Mcchordsage: Ditto.

Cdnwolf 03-29-2012 10:26 AM

Just a suggestion but instead of clogging up this forum with post you might want to set a forum just for the game..

Noted:

Right here.

Haven't done anything with it yet, but I'll start adding things soon enough.

Sanjuro 03-29-2012 02:17 PM

I'll roll up a V1 character over the weekend and email it to you for approval- with luck I can play, but if not you should have a useful npc. I'm thinking a combat engineer of some kind- always good to have one of them around!

No sweat. And yeah, they're definitely useful.

Cdnwolf 03-29-2012 07:05 PM

I signed in and posted my Character there. Just have to dig out the pdf and change the units I mentioned in my history

M-Type 03-29-2012 07:46 PM

Sure thing.

M-Type 03-30-2012 05:29 AM

For anyone who has not rolled up a character: I got one un-named 20 year old 2nd Lieutenant Ranger Infantry Officer if anyone would be interested in taking "him". I'll scan and e-mail you his sheet if interested.

If everyone has already rolled their characters, he'll just become an NPC (albiet named)

Badbru 03-30-2012 08:08 AM

It sounds like you want everyone to be online at the same time for this, Tuesdays EST? I can't begin to work out if that means tuesday Eastern US Coast time and what that means for Western Australia time but I'm doubting it will match up with my free time sooo...

Sorry to say but take me off your list.

Good luck with your game. Maybe I'll check in on it from time to time if it's something one can lurk on.

M-Type 03-30-2012 09:11 AM

Ah, yes I did mean EST US time. Sorry for the confusion. I'm sorry to hear that you can't make it, but feel free to lurk away if you can, just send a request to enter the game over on myRPG and I'll accept it. (You might have to make your name Badbru so I can put 2 and 2 together)

P.S. Should I put you on the list for a theoretical PBP I am thinking about running over on RPOL, for the people who couldn't make it to this game?

Medic 03-30-2012 09:39 AM

Do that and you will have at least one participant right away.

M-Type 03-30-2012 10:02 AM

I read you loud and clear Medic, loud and clear.

M-type has set up the game on Myrpg at the above link... sign up and post so we can get this game going... :D

mcchordsage 03-31-2012 01:34 PM

A PBP game would suit me a lot better.... I'll get signed up for the My RPG thing soon though.

M-Type 03-31-2012 01:40 PM

mcchordstage: It's fine if you'd rather do that. I can PM you the details.

Cdnwolf: Had a situation, but it's all fixed up now. You're in!

M-Type 03-31-2012 04:02 PM

Just some basic housekeeping stuff:

-Keep sending your character sheets if you're doing that! It'll speed up the first session tenfold if we don't have to worry about rolling up and doing math!

-I have all the European modules and then some. They're all valid, but I probably won't play them in the whole order thing (Krakow/Vistula/Warsaw/etc.) All those cities and locations are still around and relevant, and the characters would probably know about them.

-Going Home is also valid, except I'm pushing the time of the task force leaving to soon, not September like it states. The characters may be able to figure this out if they intercept the right messages and radio calls.

-If I think of anything else I'll post it.

Sanjuro 04-01-2012 01:32 PM

Ok, one combat engineer Captain done- details by email asap. I spent most of his cash on tools, spares, equipment, etc- half a ton of it in fact, so I hope there is plenty of vehicle space. Remember those medical supplies that need a refridgerator? Got one of those- and a generator to power it, and... you get the picture!

M-Type 04-01-2012 01:37 PM

Well done. I'm sure all of that will be quite valuable.

EDIT: Does everyone who is playing (those who've given me sheets/signed up on myRPG) have a Google account? I was thinking about having a map I could sketch on in real time, and sharing the link with all the players.

mcchordsage 04-01-2012 05:39 PM

Yep, I've got one.

M-Type 04-01-2012 07:03 PM

I'll PM you and the others the link.

Other Note: Does anyone have the UK Survivor's Guide? I just wanted to take a peek through it, see what there is to be seen.

Isochron 04-01-2012 07:40 PM

Cdnwolf & mcchordsage: Sent the link to both of you.
