Unfortunately it's such a niche subject that few books have been written on it and of those they are mostly New Zealand publications. None of the books I've read on the subject are still in print. The best book I've read on the subject was James Belich's
The New Zealand Wars and the Victorian Interpretation of Racial Conflict (Penguin Books, 1986). I'm looking at trying to find a copy on the internet of Edmund Bohan's
Climates of War, New Zealand in Conflict 1859-69 (Hazard Press, 2005) as I've read good things about it.
