Some super secret Government agency that has its headquarters in a hollowed out volcano? That'd be awesome

Oh how I wish! But no, we're not secret - just obscure and bordering on irrelevant.

I'll not tell anyone We can try this;

*makes a bluff roll*

Hey guys - did you hear Snake Eyes works in a hollowed out volcano? Hush hush work for the government, he's cloning dogs that shoot bees from their mouths.

*waits to see if he passed the roll*

I thought he was developing a program inolving sharks with lazer beams mounted on their heads.

Default hollowed out volcano

Snake is got a great job for sure - but when I heard that the commute involves parachuting down the volcano every morning I got some apprehension.

And on the subject of work, I got a hell of an ego boost last night. Tegan and Sara were playing our place last night and I had a 20 year old girl inform me 'I would so buck you if I wasn't a lesbian' - thats not the sort of compliment you get every day

I work in the corporate travel field - the very mention of volcanos these days brings me out in a cold sweat...

I had the same sort of back-handed compliment not long after I got out of the Army -- a gay man asked me to a party. I said, "I appreciate the compliment; it's very flattering that you consider me attractive. However, I'm straight, so I have to refuse. Sorry."

And I actually did take it as a compliment. Now if only he were a woman...

I definitely took it as a compliment - in my mid 30's I can attract a girl 15 years younger, who normally goes for women, completely unintentionally

That sort of thing never happened when I was younger.....

Cool bands and lesbian pick-up lines? Looks like I picked the wrong profession!

That shows how up to date I am, I thought Tegan and Sara were friends of Tigger's niece...

He doesn't parachute, and he doesn't fast-rope either -- Airwolf picks him up and takes down inside.

Once upon a time I worked for my family in Ireland and was very happy, but I never had much money. Then I decided to go to university in England, got a couple of degrees, became an archaeologist and thought I was great and was also very happy, but I still never had any money. Then I emigrated to America, got married, became a father and went to work in the head office of a large corporation and I had loads of money, but I was totaly unhappy.

Then I moved back to Ireland with my wife, son and dog, decided to start my own transport and courier business in Dublin and thought it would be great to work for myself and never have a boss again. It is great but I'm also working myself to death!

Basically I was blissfully happy when I had no responsibilities or money, and felt the exact opposite when I had responsibilities and money. I think I would be extremely happy if I moved back in with my parents, got out of bed in the afternoon, signed on for welfare benefits and spent my days in the bar betting on the horses, and then spent my winnings on fast cars and women because life is a bitch.

I'm on one of the lower rungs of the management ladder at a major US retailer (I can't say which under penalty of firing, death, and or genital mutilation. Our HR department doesn't muck about.) after 11.5 years or so selling TVs , stereos, and then appliances. The only good part of my job is that it usually allows me to masquerade as part of the local music scene so long as I can still play the drums, and wear silly hats on stage so the younger groupies don't realize I'm balding until they sober up the next day...

Well after about eight years working as a psychologist in the alcohol and drug field I've gone back to uni. So now I'm a grad student busily trying to finish a doctorate in neuropsychology. Mostly living out of my bank account but I've just picked up some part time work in my uni's psychology service.
