If it had been Major Po in charge my guess is that he would have captured the trader, his men and the truck, tortured them until they revealed their caches, tortured some others for the fun of it, used one to infect with small pox and then sold all the survivors into slavery.

Hmmm, seems like you covered all the bases. I like the idea of infecting one then selling them to slavers. Slavery is morally reprehensible and really deserves to be stopped
