I like it. It has strong parallels with events in my own campaign. I need to re-read it a couple of times before I give more specific feedback.

It's not canon, that's clear from the start. 11th ACR stayed in Fulda according to Going home.
Also the commander was Colonel D Howard Masterson.

BUT, as a peice of work for your own T2K world, it's pretty good. Perhaps substituting the 278th ACR would be worth considering as they possess vehicles from a variety of sources, are approximately the same strength of numbers and vehicles, and were included in the evacuation?

With that minor adjustment, I'd be happy to include it in my own "world view".

If you chose to go with the 278th, perhaps offering up something besides a nuclear powerstation might be worth considering. The first thing that pops into my mind is that somehow elements of the unit aquired the Black Maddonna", but it could just as easily be something else like the location of fifty TOW missiles, three tonnes of 4.7mm cls, a captured Soviet tac nuke, etc...

Default nice :)

You asked for a review..

I liked the storyline, lot's of details...

I'd like more info about the "characters" in the story though..Especiall about Starks and the Mayor of NY, backgrounds etc...

I'd also like more info on NY, history since the blasts etc....

And more info about what CIVGOV would do if the plans to retrieve the gold were learned (maybe a sideplot about a CIA hit team to take out starks - his US family as bait or something...)

Also a third unknown faction would be cool - a faction that operates in the background pulling strings for their own agenda...just like the NY-bankers are doing with the US government this very moment

Maybe even a US state that goes independent like Mississippi or Georgia....

All in all a good write up.

I'd sure like to see more where this is going.

You could add a group of German Mercenaries as added support for 11th ACR.
Could be loads of nice missions sidemissions etc

just a thought...

Also maybe the Germans need spareparts or scientsists/mechanics to repair their last operating nuclear powerplant, and that would be the reason to send a team/squad/company of highly trained soldeirs to retrieve this...

As you might understand I like a lot of sideplots that pulls in the red string of a story...

Keep doing your excellent work.

I will look into the 278th, but am a lil nervous about using them since they are Tenn NG, but I will check them out for sure.

I used the 11th initially because the first concept was to write up them staying in Germany and setting up shop there instead, but then I thought "foreign country, lots of unhappy Germans around, no equipment to be had as replacement unless I went German or Warsaw and how would I fit them into all the module adventures?"

Now that I have the base of the unit down, I am working on the details of both of the Recon platoons exploits and the transition over to NYC. There I will have more details about the city, factions, NPC's. I plan on on cession at some point, just need to get my ducks in a row as I am sure the MILGOV cantonment in NJ won't be happy.

I came up with the basis of the storyline from a combination of "Going Home", alot of the DC works "Recovery Plan" and a time line I found regarding the events of the Twilight War and where the modules land in that time line.

Thanks for the feedback. Keep it coming please as it will give me more ideas for the next step or any revisions I might like to make. Don't worry I wont take offense to criticism as it only makes me a better writer in this situation.

Default good write up

I am not a devoted canon follower, but I do demand some realism and this story had a lot of strong points.
It seems thoroughly done I have to say.

I love the multiple-layered story lines - cloack and dagger style in command, small side missions for the characters with more regular warfare- possibilities for alot of variety .

I think its good and would like to see more.

Remember they have been in combat for long time if you change it to the 278th. Any NG unit in Europe would of needed a lot of replacements. Of course, the core of the unit would still come from TN, but there would be enough other troops assigned or absorbed by the unit to negate that.

But I do like the 11th ACR. It was refreshing to see someone thinking outside of the box.

Where in Going Home is that name mentioned? (Not saying it isn't mind you, just that Kalos and I couldn't find it).

Yes, it's in the description of Fulda I think if it's not included in the unit entry.
