Question Rule Question - Charisma

This has been bothering me for a bit of a long time.

Example:

Person A (charisma 1 out of 10)

Will new ncps react bad even when he/she doesn't open his/her mouth?
What if they are hooded or disguised or has a full-face-helmet of sorts...

Is there ways to live a fullfiling and happy life with 1 in charisma - as you might know it doesn't mean you stink like raw sewage...you might just be really obnoxius have an unparrarelled way of bad timing etc...

your thoughts...

(Targan - with harnsmashermaster rules are offcourse accepted)

Well Harnmaster/Gunmaster doesn't use Charisma but it does have the Aura stat which fulfils part of what Charisma requires. Aura represents the strength of a person's soul, and people with higher Aura are naturally more empathic and can seem to have quite warm personalities.

There were several PCs in my campaign who had unusually low Aura stats and they came across as very cold, souless sorts of hard core killers. In particular my brother's character, USMC Sgt Urana Ratowi, a giant, ugly Samoan scout/sniper. He had to work at being friendly with other people because both his Aura and Attractiveness stats were below six and people tended to recoil from him. It didn't help either that he was 6'5" and really buff. Ratowi's Aura was so low that he actually got 1 or 2% natural magic resistance. Didn't do him much good in the naturally low-magic T2K earth environment obviously.

This won't help any, but it doesn't help that Charisma is basically an intangible characteristic. It's genuinely hard (at least in my experience) to accurately portray a character with a high Charisma score -- even more so than trying to portray someone with a genius-level INT.

It also doesn't help that high Charisma doesn't necessarily overtly exert itself -- some people make bad first impressions, but are genuinely likable and are good leaders once you get to know them.

God,I hate them...

hehe

I see your point and as far as the rules go -playing a very low charisma -or high for that matter isnt easy.

To help speed things along and make charisma a usefuls Score I tend to roll for reaction when dealing with NPCs. (unless a specific skill is use like persuasion)
Having a 1 will definently make people dislike you in most instances.

You will have to go out of your way to make good impressions/get people to like you or be loyal to you out of anything other than fear.

thats my take on it anyways.
