I agree this could be a point of contention. But maybe, just maybe, Pope Francis will live up to the simplicity of his name sake, St Francis. As I read the writings of St. Francis, love each other, care for each other. The very basis of Christianity as I understand it.

Depends, it appears he is named after Francis Xavier of the Jesuit Order not the saint.

It could have been worse - if it had been an Italian cardinal who had served in Russian in WW2 I would be somewhat worried with my articles...
