Helmet, Combat Vehicle Crewman Weight: 1.5kg
A padded helmet issued to vehicle crews. The CVC is fitted with a boom microphone and headphones for intra-vehicle and radio communication (the helmet plugs into the vehicle’s intercom system). A Kevlar shell is fitted that provides some head protection. Helmet, PASGT Weight: 1.35kg The helmet, better known as a “Fritz” or “K-Pot” is made with Dupont Kevlar, a synthetic fiber that is lighter and stronger than steel. It greatly resembles the helmets used by German forces throughout this century and provides the best level of cranial protection available. There is an elaborate internal suspension system of straps and padding, and a replaceable fabric camouflage cover. Vest, Interceptor Body Armor Weight: 7.5kg A replacement for the PASGT vest, the Interceptor is a marked advance over the earlier system. It consists of a flexible Kevlar vest with sufficient ballistic performance to stop fragments and projectiles up to 9mm, and front and back trauma plates capable of stopping repeated hits from 7.62mm rounds. Vest, PASGT Weight: 9.1kg This vest is made with Kevlar and is designed to protect the neck, shoulders and front and back. It is secured with Velcro closures. The vest is built up with dozens of layers of Kevlar running in different directions, and reinforced with ceramic plates at key points. This spreads out the impacting energy of a bullet or fragment over a wider area, thus preventing a potentially lethal penetration. It is designed to stop a 7.62mm round at short range. The bullet may knock you down, or even crack a rib (and it will definitely leave you severely bruised), but you will be alive. The greatest complaint about the vest is that it is torture in hot weather, since it does not “breathe”. It is normally worn only when close combat is expected.

Breaching Charge
A configured charge of plastic explosive designed to blow man-sized holes in walls. The charge is the size of a thick notebook, with a self-adhesive panel on one side and an adjustable chemical time fuse on the other. To operate the charge, the user peels the sheet of protective plastic film from the adhesive panel, places the charge at waist height, breaks the prescored fuse strip at the desired time delay (five to 60 seconds in five-second increments), pulls the primer and dives for cover. Weight: 2kg Burst Radius: 20m Packaging: 4 per case Package Weight: 12kg Composition Four Known as C-4, plastique or plastic explosive, this is the most commonly used demolitions material in the military today. Plastique has the consistency of clay and can be molded into any shape. A pancake of plastic explosives can be wrapped around a turbine shaft to sabotage it or flattened against armor plate to punch a hole through it. A long strip of C-4 can be used to outline a man-sized area on the hull of an aircraft, or around a doorknob to blast an entry or open the lock. Plastic explosives are absolutely stable. They will not explode when dropped, jarred, struck or exposed to flame. Dynamite Used mostly as an industrial explosive, and may be found at quarries or other blasting sites. It is relatively stable but may explode when exposed to fire or struck with a metal implement. A single stick may cut into as many as seven pieces. One-seventh of a stick has a relative strength of 0.1 unit of C-4. M-1 Timer/Detonator An adjustable mechanical detonator. The time delay can be set from 10-60 seconds; from 1-10 minutes (in 1 minute intervals); and from 1-48 hours (in 10 minute intervals). Weight: 0.3kg Fuse Delay: 10 seconds to 48 hours Packaging: 150 per case Package Weight: 26kg M-2 Selectable Lightweight Attack Munition This is a self-contained, easy to emplace munition. It can be easily mixed with other munitions for anti-material, anti-vehicular and anti-personnel. It has four detonation modes: passive IR, magnetic influence, time delay (15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes) and command detonation. The explosively formed penetrator can penetrate up to 40mm of armor out to 8m. Weight: 1kg Burst Radius: 6m Packaging: 4 per case Package Weight: 6kg M-2A1 Detonator A combination igniter/fuse/detonator assembly. With the detonator imbedded in the explosive and the T-ring pulled, the fuse is ignited thus setting off the explosive. Weight: 0.050kg Fuse Delay: 8 seconds Packaging: 200 per case Package Weight: 27.9kg M-2A1 Timer/Detonator A digital timer which can be set for 30-seconds to 48-hours in 30-second intervals. It will fire up to ten electrical blasting caps. Weight: 0.25kg Fuse Delay: 30 seconds to 48 hours Packaging: 150 per case Package Weight: 45kg M-7 Blasting Cap, Nonelectric This cap will detonate explosives. It requires a fuse to be inserted into the cap for ignition. Weight: 0.004kg Burst Radius: 0.25m Packaging: 3,600 per case Package Weight: 51.5kg M-8 Blasting Cap, Electric This cap will detonate explosives. It requires an electrical wire to be inserted into the cap for ignition. Weight: 0.004kg Burst Radius: 0.25m Packaging: 3,600 per case Package Weight: 51.5kg M-60 Fuse Igniter With this igniter, a fuse may be lit underwater. To use, a fuse is placed in the base, the safety pin removed and the igniter ring pulled. Weight: 0.069kg Burst Radius: n/a Packaging: 300 per case Package Weight: 25.2kg M-112 C-4 Demolition Block The M-112 demolition block consists of 0.563kg of Composition-4 packed in a Mylar-film container with pressure-sensitive adhesive tape on one surface. The tape is protected by a peelable paper cover. The M-112 block is used primarily for cutting and breaching in all types of demolition work. Because of its moldability and high brisance, the charge is ideally suited for cutting irregularly shaped targets such as steel. The adhesive backing allows the charge to be attached to any relatively flat, clean, dry surface that is above freezing point. One block will blast a hole 30cm square through 10mm armor plate or a 0.6m diameter hole through a 10cm thick rock or concrete wall. Weight: 0.563kg Burst Radius: 6.75m Packaging: 30 per case Package Weight: 21.6kg M-118 C-4 Demolition Block The M-118 demolition block, or sheet explosive, is a block of four 0.227kg sheets of Composition-4 packed in a plastic envelope. Each sheet of the plastic explosive has a pressure-sensitive adhesive tape attached to one surface. The M-118 block is designed as a cutting charge especially to be used against steel targets. The sheets of explosive can be quickly attached to irregular and curved surfaces and is easily cut to any desired dimensions. Weight: 0.90kg Burst Radius: 10.79kg Packaging: 20 per case Package Weight: 25.8kg M-150 Penetration Augmented Munition This is a lightweight, man-portable demolition device. It is only 0.838m in length and can be emplaced by one person. The primary use of this munition is against reinforced concrete bridge supports, piers, walls, and abutments. The device is designed to be easily carried in a rucksack or attached to the soldier’s LBE without restricting his ability to walk, climb, rappel, or fast rope. Any standard detonation device can ignite it. The PAM is hung against the target. The warhead consists of a forward charge, which cuts any rebar; a hole-drilling charge, which forms a hole in the target; and a follow-through charge, which is propelled to the bottom of the hole it detonates. The explosion fractures the structure and results in the loss of at least 75 percent of the load-bearing capability. Two operators with two PAM units (32kg) can set the devices on a bridge and be ready to exfil within two minutes. Normally, this type of operation would require twelve men, using 200kg of M-112 demolition blocks and a time of fifteen minutes per man. Weight: 15.876kg Burst Radius: 163m Packaging: 2 per case Package Weight: 40kg M-183 Demolition Charge A canvas satchel containing 16, M-112 C-4 blocks and 4 M-15 priming assemblies. The priming assemblies are 2 meters of primercord with a blasting cap at each end. The charge will blast a 2-meter diameter hole 1 meter of concrete. It will also blast a 0.6-meter hole through 76mm of steel. *original belongs to Paul's "Uber Gear List" THE site to review!!!
SIGHTS AN/GVS-5 Laser Rangefinder Weight: 2.3kg This device resembles a pair of binoculars. It is used to determine the range to a target, usually to verify the location of targets for artillery or air strikes. It is an x8 power, effective out to 9km. The operator must have a clear LOS to the target; smoke or dust can degrade the range. AN/PAQ-4C Infrared Aiming Light Weight: 0.3kg This device produces a target-marking beam similar to that of a standard laser sight---except that it is infrared and thus invisible to the naked eye. The targeting dot can only be seen through NVGs; as a result, it is effective only for night combat. AN/PAS-7 Thermal Viewer Weight: 5kg A viewer that “sees” heat, either the presence or lack of it. It can see a warm body hiding in a tree or a cold vehicle hidden under brush. It can spot a man at four hundred meters or a running vehicle at three kilometers. It is able to penetrate fog, rain or smoke. It has a magnification of x4.5 and a battery life of 48 hours. AN/PVS-4 Individual Weapon Night Sight Weight: 1.8kg This is a portable sight used for observation and aimed fire of weapons at night. It uses passive light amplification to provide the user with a clear view of the field of fire. It provides clear vision out to 365m. AN/PVS-7B Night Vision Goggles, NVGs Weight: 0.7kg This device has a single viewing tube instead of the standard inocular form of earlier versions. Prisms provide simulated binocular vision, but vision is limited to a 40° arc in front of the user. This model works on the principle of light amplification; it doesn’t emit infrared radiation that could reveal the wearer to other night-vision gear. It also incorporates photo-reactive light dampening to protect the wearer against the blinding effects of muzzle flashes. It will function continuously for 12 hours on its battery. AN/PAS-13(V)2 Weight: 2kg The US military AN/PAS-13(V)2 TWS. This sight can identify targets at a range of 690 meters (down to telling what type of uniform is worn, type of weapon carried, whether the target has a mustache, etc.) and larger objects such as vehicles and buildings at a range of 1,000 meters. This device has crosshairs to facilitate aiming. Glass and Plexiglas are opaque to the TWS, and appear black. RADIO AN/PRC-112A Secure Transponder Weight: 0.8kg This is more of a survival radio than anything else; it only operates on eight frequencies on the UHF/AM band, including the international emergency band. There is a newer version, the GPS-112, which adds a GPS receiver. Short range is 4km. Issued to Recon and MARS Teams. AN/PRC-119 SINGCARS Secure Manpack Radio Weight: 7.5kg This unit has a built-in frequency-hopping unit. Any radio can communicate with any other by means of a special frequency-hopping unit that changes frequencies (all 2,300 of them) at 30-second intervals so that it is almost impossible to listen in on a conversation for any length of time. However, both radios must be on the same link to be able to communicate with each other. The PRC-119 can also be used as a modem (transmitting at 16 kphs). This unit may also be combined with a Vinson voice scrambler for maximum security. The radio has a maximum range of about 8km as a manpack radio. Standard Issue Project radio. AN/PSC-5 Manpack/Vehicular SATCOM Terminal Weight: 7.5kg This device allows communications via satellites in orbit. Normal transmission mode is voice, but a keyboard may be attached for text, as can a fax machine or a computer. The device may be used as a regular radio, with a short range of 18km. It may also be used as a beacon for rescue or other homing operations. Issued to MARS, Recon, Science and Communications Teams. AN/VRC-87C SINGCARS Secure Vehicular Radio Weight: 12kg This radio has a short range of 50km from a vehicle mount only. The unit is otherwise similar in function to the AN/PRC-119 described above. Issued to MARS and Recon Teams. Caracal (PRM 4740A) Secure Hand Radio Weight: 1kg Used by special operations units, these are the smallest radios to incorporate frequency-hopping technology. Up to 10 channels may be reprogrammed for quick frequency changing. Also fitted with a remote ear receiver and a throat microphone. Designed to allow team members to communicate without having to remove the radio from its holster. Cellular Telephone Weight: 1kg A portable cellular phone allowing access to cellular communications networks. A special chip is inserted that allows Project cellular phones to access any existing cellular network. Communications-Electronics Operations Instructions Weight: Negligible The CEOI is a small paper book containing assigned radio frequencies, times for changing frequencies, alternate frequencies in case one is compromised, team callsigns, prearranged call times, passwords and countersigns, cipher sheets for encrypting and decrypting messages and visual signals for contacting aircraft if radio communications is out. CEOIs are vital to the mission; they are also classified material which must not be mislaid. CEOIs are printed on highly flammable paper so that they can be easily burned to prevent capture; they can also be chewed to illegibility in seconds. Portable Facsimile Machine Weight: 6kg Connected to a radio, this enables recon photos, situation maps and other reports to be sent and received by teams in the field. RC-292 Antenna System Weight: 10kg This is a 10-meter tall antenna. Any radio attached to this antenna has its broadcast range tripled in normal mode or multiplied by six in hi-power---and highly detectable---mode. The antenna is non-mobile and takes one man-hour to assemble (i.e., one man takes one hour, two men take one-half hour, four men take one-quarter hour, etc.). In addition, it takes one-man half-hour to disassemble. The antenna broadcasts in 360° for purposes of reception and detection. RADARS AN/GRR-17-2 Ground Surveillance Radar Weight: 32kg This is a very advanced, ground-based surveillance radar system. The unit consists of three pieces; the antenna, the power unit and the radar receiver-transmitter. The unit is capable of picking up the motion of a ground vehicle at 10 kilometers, an aircraft at 25 kilometers, or a man at four kilometers. The weight of the antenna is 10kg, the power unit is 12kg and the radar receiver-transmitter is 10kg. Normally issued to MARS and Recon Teams. SURVEILLANCE AN/PRD-303/SV Surveillance System Weight: 10.8kg A small motion sensor that covers a 120° covered arc. It detects the motion of solid objects between one and two meters off the ground. Up to ten PRD-303/Ss can be hooked into a PRD-303/V. Effective range of the sensor is about 250 meters in open terrain. Internal batteries provide up to twelve hours of operation. Bullhorn Weight: 3kg Makes voices distinctly audible at 300 meters and indistinctly audible at 600 meters. Powered from internalbatteries (rechargeable). Camcorder (SONY PC5) Weight: 0.4kg An electronic recorder of audio and visual images, either as single frames or sequential motion pictures, stored on digital mini-cassettes or flash memory sticks. Each flash card can hold 1650 images or 7 minutes of video. Each tape can record for 80 minutes at SP quality. Advanced MedKit Weight: 0.1kg
This kit consists of a single drug injector that is preloaded with Nanobots. These nanobots are programmed to help the immune system against biohazards and common viruses. They also speed the healing of broken bones and blood vessels (by 50%), and normal tissue healing (by 25%). Internal organs (liver, kidneys, lungs, etc.) are unaffected, since the nanobots aren’t complex enough to handle injuries to those areas. The drawback to this kit is that there is a chance (1 in 50) of the victim being allergic to the nanobots. Their immune system will react to the nanobots and attack them to the exclusion of all else. Symptoms include extremely high fever within six hours of the injection, rashes over most of the body, extreme vomiting, and extreme dizziness leading to death within 48 hours. There is a special nanobot removal drug which, if given within two hours of the first symptoms, will terminate the allergic reaction and kill the nanobots. The drug however, leaves the immune system totally depleted for up to 40 days. The patient must be kept within a totally sterile environment throughout this period. All Project field personnel have been tested to insure that they are not allergic to the nanobots. Team medics are issued two injector for every team member (labeled with their name). Sheet, Plastic Weight: 2kg A roll of 10mil thick, 48”x500’ sheet plastic intended for a multitude of uses. Skis, Cross-Country Weight: 8kg Includes poles, skies, ski boots and binders. Small Unit Showers (SUS) Weight: 68kg This is a hollow collapsible metal frame with rubberized fabric walls and provides four shower stalls. The units are similar in design to those onboard naval vessels, with push button controls that spray only while the button is pushed. Hot water is provided by a 75-liter water heater that can provide sixteen showers before the tank must be refilled. The tank requires 50 minutes to fully heat the water and is multifuel capable (fuel consumption is 30 liters per eight hours). The heater can also be powered by an external generator (45kW consumption) or by a vehicle power supply. The unit packs into two canvas bags and may be set up by two personnel in fifteen minutes. Snorkel Gear Weight: 2kg A mask, snorkel and swim fins. Permits the user to swim completely underwater for periods of up to 30 seconds, with a minimum of surface interaction (pulling the snorkel below the surface and holding his breath). The user needs to only gently break the surface and can then breath normally without making large amounts of noise or surface ripples. Snowshoes Weight: 2kg Designed to spread the wearer’s weight over a wider area and thus prevent him from sinking into loose snow. Snowshoes allow near-normal speed in deep snow, but are fatiguing to wear for long periods. Solar Still Weight: 0.5kg This consists of a plastic one-liter bowel, a one-meter length of flexible plastic tubing and a 1.5-meter square of transparent plastic. When used properly the still can provide up to two-liters of drinkable water per day in extreme heat survival situations. Stretcher, Rescue Weight: 14kg A lightweight metal basket stretcher equipped with hold down straps. Allows for the evacuation of an injured person up or down cliffs or across rough terrain. Teaching Machine & Basic Library Weight: 5kg A solar-power microfishe viewer with a supply of general how-to books on microfische. Tent, Crew Shelter Weight: 26.76kg A shelter that provides ran protection, weather insulation, passive chemical protection, withstands high winds and can support up to 10” of wet snow. Features a reduced infrared signature and has built-in black out capabilities (a 100 watt bulb cannot be seen through the material). The inner layer is resistant to water, wind, mildew, fire and ultraviolet degradation. The frame is lightweight olive drab aircraft aluminum tubes interconnected with joints made of engineered plastics. Features air vents and two screen doors with storm flaps. Has 118 square feet and stand 4’10”. Tent, Command Post Weight: 42.64kg A shelter that provides ran protection, weather insulation, passive chemical protection, withstands high winds and can support up to 10” of wet snow. Includes remote ports, stove-pipe shields, roof ventilators, three screen doors with storm flaps and a connector tube to interlink tents. Has 115 square feet and is 8’6” tall. Waster Treatment Unit, Thermal Conversion Weight: 2,000kg Because civilizations have never existed without waste and garbage, disease and pestilence have always been a major danger to survival. To deal with this problem, Project planners included a highly sophisticated, fusion-powered waste treatment plant for permanent installation. It consists of two, one tonne loads, which, when erected, will process 2.5 kilos of raw sewage per person per day for a maximum of 500 people. The residue, a gray-white powder, is sterile and makes an excellent fertilizer, improving crop yields by up to twenty-five percent. Watch, Sensor Weight: Negligible Has a built-in thermometer, altimeter, and barometer. Also includes dual alarms and four chimes, 1/100 second chronograph, 10 lap memory, count-down timer, is water resistant (to 100m) and equipped with a back-light feature. Water Dye Weight: 0.1kg per tube A tube of liquid dye which can be used to highlight a patch of water (around a raft or in a lake near a crash sight) with a bright, easily-spotted color visible from the air. The primary drawback of this form of signaling is the short duration of the covered patch (no more than 15 minutes in still water and much less if the water is rough or there is some form of precipitation to break it up), and the fact that it cannot be used at night. Generally, water dye is only useful when the searchers are aware of the presence of the distressed party and are in need of an exact location. A tube provides a single dye patch of about 10 meters in diameter. Water dyes can also be used to trace underwater flows by placing them in an above ground source and then searching for dye streamers at possible exist points. Available in green, orange, yellow and red. Water Treatment Unit, Portable, Trailered Weight: 250kg The universal need for uncontaminated water led to the inclusion of this portable unit. It can process 40 galleons of water per water, and is powered by a vehicle power supply. The unit is primarily a tank with a self-contained decontamination/filtration unit. Should the filters of the feed clog, the unit shuts down. Water quality is monitored to assure purity of output. The unit can be operated and towed by a HMMWV. All inlet and outlet fittings are 5cm in diameter. The unit includes pump and ten meters of inlet/outlet pipes.
