I'm not trying to be a buzz kill or wet blanket. I just don't want anyone here- or the forum as a whole- to get in trouble.

I think brief synopses and issue/page numbers is fine. I'd just rather we all be safe than sorry.

While I don't know the specifics and it's going to vary from nation to nation, as far as I am aware, RN7 has violated no copyright/IP laws by posting the information in the manner he did.
Copying parts of an article is "generally" acceptable as long as it doesn't exceed a certain percentage but because he relayed parts of the article but in his own words, even this is not a particular concern.

Again, this is as far as I understand it, copyright laws protect the way an idea was expressed, presented or executed. The idea itself is not subject to copyright protection. So I believe that in RN7's case, there has no reprinting/copying or plagiarism so there has been no particular violation of copyright/IP.

I didn't say there had been any copyright violation. I'm not trying to be heavy-handed or call anyone out. I'm just suggesting that we err on the side of caution, or at least be aware. Again, I'd hate for any forum member, or the forum itself, to get into any legal difficulties for making a mistake.

My apologies, I didn't intend to make it sound as though you had said there was any violation.
Text is just not good enough sometimes to reflect the tone in which something is meant

As a side note, Challenge No77 indicated that issue 78 would have a T2k adventure set in Australia involving I think, trying to re-establish the rail network between east and west.
Unfortunately No78 never got published.

Which really stinks as it would have been the first article set in Australia - and as far as I know the article was lost when Challenge shut down

The author of Indian Pacific (Darryl Adams) is still active in the RPG community. He had an article in issue six of Colonial Times (a 2300 fanzine) and did a fan expansion on GURPS Traveller. I'm not sure how to get in contact with him, but if someone can figure that part out, we may be able to learn if anything still exists of the article.
