So after watching that news clip I have a question.
Is it to be issued as a replacement to the M203/M320 GL's at squad level as it's operates as a advanced grenade launcher system or will it be issue in addition to the above? |

That is the interesting question. First time I seen/heard about this weapon it was on the history channel, I forget the show, but with the XM-8 Assault Rifle in similar configuration that the M16/M203 today holds. So I am would think it would be issued at down to squad level for combat units.
Yet, since that show has been out, I believe the XM-8 was killed off so the XM-25 survived solo. I think if they do get the technology where it can be employed, it be like the M79 and then the later M203 under the M16. Since there is some debate what type of round the next generation of Assault Rifle/Carbine will use. The weapon system is intended to replace the M203 in the future, but there are several issues with weight and battery life to name a few. |
