Tips and Tricks
I thought I'd start a new thread that board memebers can add to and possibly have it stickied to stay at the top of the forum, to share little tricks for both players and Refs.
For example, the few times I've actually played, my characters always carried a kilo of C4. Not so much for demo purposes, but for starting fires. C4 majes one hell of a tinder.

I think he was refering to C4 could be and has been used not just to start fires, but to cook with and it is much better than heat tablets. Also, older explosives like C-2 and the jelied explosive and composition B also do like wise. This info I was told by a WWII combat engineer.

I use have my character carry demo cord for cutting though fences (I read about it in one of Phoenix Force books). I don't know if it would work in really life, but it all seem to do the trick in Twilight.

Det cord is great stuff for making a great many inconveniences go away. Besides the Vietnam era tree cutting/LZ clearing function, it's used today for all sorts of breaching charges -- besides linear charges (like you'd use to slice an entire door away from its hinges/frame, or cut a fence) you can always stack or loop strips of it one next to another to create a charge with more surface area for doing things like blowing door locks, etc. Incredibly versatile stuff, and really easy to work with.
Guys with a knowledge of demo in T2K would, situation permitting and requiring, might carry a couple breaching charges as part of their day to day walking around load for popping door locks -- never know when you might really, really need to get off the street and such. |

I don't know; we were never taught to use it on a fence. But there is something called incendiary, or thermite paste that would definitely work.
