Default What would a war in Europe...

What would happen if the Russia started a much larger war in Europe. One in which they intend to recreate the buffer they once had while also laying claim to puppet republics.

With many of the former client states now being members of NATO and EU. Would non-NATO members of the EU have to send forces in defense of other member of EU. Would these units come under EU umbrella or would they be merge into NATO? How would various military organization co-exist in defense of new NATO members such as Poland, the Baltic States? How fast would a NATO or EU response be if they were attack outright? What would happen to the Russia enclave of former East Prussia that they still hold too, and who would lay claim to that if the Russia were effective removed from there and they held onto it?

Just wondering, I have some ideas with current or just starting conflicts in the Middle East and/or Korea draining manpower much like t2k seen happen, but what if there was no threat of war starting there. For that matter neither in Africa or else where with maybe the exception being south Pacific in which Indonesia sees as time to expand it power and influence while other World players are occupied with other issues.
