Default Traffic/Straggler Control Point

Here an idea I was thinking about for an adventure,

The NPC are a squad assigned to man a Traffic/Straggler Control Point. It is at a major crossing (river, highway, rail, ect.) near the Polish Border into Germany, (IE 5th ID Esscape Route), There job it keep the traffic and people moving and prevent chaos as troops move into germany for the trip home.

They would have a NPC group of Six MP's which provide Law Enforcement Support while the PC's search people and vehicles as well man key weapons systems for defending the T/SCP, some encounters I came up with is

Lone Staggler/KGB Agent
Human Sumgglers
Black Market Sumgglers
A group of Soliders who want to aviod the MP at all cost
Polish Army Patrol
Col Stark and group wishing to travel into germany

I like it. It presents a lot of encounter options, gives the players a clear objective, and it will probably be simpler for a GM to construct than a moving campaign where the setting is constantly changing.

Sounds like it'd make a good one-shot demo game for convention use, too.

Seems to be one of those simple static campaigns that one could start and keep the troops in one general location for awhile.

Another would be have the troops in fortification with orders to defend it and patrol the local territory around it. Being a Forward Operational Fire Base or a control point assignment. Think how the troops of the Krakow ORMO/8th Polish Motorized Rifle Division feel about their various assignments day in and day out...
