OT- Sweet Weekend for me!
I'm having such a good weekend its scaring me.
Thursday, got a call from my bro-in-law, a buddy of his wants me to do a leather project. I talked to the guy, did some research, quoted a price. I'll make about $600 after material costs. Saturday, went to a gun show and purchased an AR, a S&W M&P. Got what I think was a good deal, paid $750 out the door. And just minutes ago I won an auction for a bird's head grip frame for my Ruger Vaquero. I lost out on an auction for one last week. I bid on it, then the previous high bidder panicked and hit the "buy it now" for $275. The one I just won was $100. And in about 2 hours I'm taking the family to my sister's and from there going out to eat at a nice restraunt. Life is sweet for a fat white guy! And I ordered a couple out of print books I've wanted to read for a long time and never got around to them. Already got/'read one, the other shoud be here in a day or two.

I just got back from spending the weekend in Melbourne. I love trams! Every city should have 'em.

I am guessing that when you say trams, you are speaking about trains? IF so, here in the USA, you almost can not give away seats on our train systems. The only place trains work is in the NorthEast Corridor between Boston and Washington, DC. There are about 150 million + in an area that stretches about 500-600 miles. And even then the trains do not work all that well. It seems that every day there is a story about a train jumping the track, running into a civilian vehicle, power outage, or other FUBAR. I could make noises about the US Govt. running the railroads, but I want to keep this non-political as possible. My $0.02 Mike |

I see. Thanks for that definition. Where I grew up, Philadlephia, PA, this kind of transit system was called a trolley.

We have inter-city and inter-state rail networks too but they're expensive to run and not hugely popular. Australia is just so huge with such small population densities.

I spent the weekend in west Texas helping a buddy work on his deer lease. Something like 105 degrees, working from 0800 until 2200. Kind of sucked big ones! But I did get to sight in the new rifle and got an invite to hunt this year.

A good weekend for me. Finnish model 62 assault rifle and over 500 rounds to burn in a good company on a military firing range. Tonight we zeroed the sights, tomorrow we'll shoot both ordinary range and from the move at close ranges.

I like your plan better than mine. I put a new grip on a revolver and the new grip was a shade bigger than the old one. I had to make a shim to fit the hammer spring strut seat then spent over 3 hours trying to compress the damn spring to put it back together. Functions great just got to take to to a range and see if it shoots. Plus file the backstrap down a little to match the grips.

1775 rounds between 13 reservists spent today. Also, got 17/18 (which is great even by Finnish Military Professional tables) on assault rifle in the following configuration: one target with the bullseye being one inch across and outwards from bullseye ten another inch, while from nine to six each ring is two inches. Range: 150 meters. Iron sights. 6+6+6 rounds. Each group of six rounds are loaded 2+2+2 in to three mags. First six rounds are fired at the target one at a time with the target visible for five seconds at a time in 15 second intervals and with change of mag every two rounds. The second batch of six with the target visible for three seconds with fifteen second intervals, changing mags as in the first batch. Third batch is double shots with target visible for five seconds. Only those shots on or inside the sixth ring are counted.
