Default The Rover

Hi all,

Has anyone seen the film above?? I watched it recently and thought that a lot of the imagery corresponds very closely to how a not too heavily nuked Australia would look/feel maybe from 1999-201X.

The plot is very simple and not everything hangs together perfectly (use of USD instead of gold back currency or similar in particular didn't match with other elements of the story).

Cheers,

Nick

Hadn't even heard about it which is not unusual for Australian films (as in, they often get better publicity/promotion in other countries before they get full publicity here).
So thanks for the info, I'll be trying to catch a session at one of the two (yes two and they are both owned by the same independent cinema company*) cinemas showing it in my city.

* which goes back to my comment about how little promotion is done in this country for some of movies made here.

I'm surprised you hadn't heard of it, I was really looking forward to seeing The Rover for months. The Australian release date was the day after I got out of hospital and I've been in no condition to visit a cinema since then so I guess I'll have to wait for the DVD release. You're right about the poor variety of venues though. Only showing at Luna Cinemas here (as you've already alluded to).
