And to you, too!

For those of us who haven't had midnight yet, I remind you to please NOT shoot your firearms up in the air at 0000. I already have enough wild bullets in my walls, thank you.

(This is probably the LAST group that I belong to that I should have to warn about weapon safety, better safe than sorry.)

We are Canadians.... hockey pucks maybe but not bullets.

Now the country will be shut down for the next couple of hours while we watch the Canada vs USA World Juniors Championship in hockey.

My plans are to keep my dogs calm amidst all the (illegally popped) firecrackers. With Xanax and a lot of attention...

Yep. It could be firecrackers, but I think I can tell the difference between the pace of a string of crackers and a handgun or shotgun.

I opened the door for about a minute to listen at midnight last night, and stopped counting at 30 shots.

The bullets in my house actually date from a July 4th weekend, another occasion for the stupids to play. One missed my mother-in-law by 4 feet, the others are still in the wall or roof. I've read that many cops park their cars under bridges at midnight, they hear so many shots. Some cities are investing in shot-locating sound devices, I hope they can get better at it.
