Default M.O.L.L.E. in V 2.2 Timeline

OK Im getting conflicting info on when MOLLE gear was issued or deployed. Some say 1997 some say 1999.

I know SAPPI plates/carriers were around in 1994.

Im going to venture to say that 1st Gen MOLLE vests and vest/plate carriers would of been a viable option in the 2.2 timeline.....?

Thoughts?

We didn't have it at the 82nd for Desert Storm, but a friend of mine's at 10th Mountain had it. (Brian was in an infantry unit.) This was 1991, so depending on what timeline you use, your players and/or NPCs might have it.

I'd think it would be safe to advance things as far as availability in the 1.0-2.2 timelines a few years because in those, you really didn't have a massive end of the cold war drawdown causing development and deployment of new stuff to slow down. Moreso in the 1.0 timeline.

In mid '96 a single vest of MOLLE showed up at our base and was grabbed by the Chief for an exercise in Korea. I'm guessing for testing and such. I just remember it getting tossed back into the duffle bag and us stealing a LBE for the Chief half way through.

The army was getting the LBV designed in the 90's along with the CFP90 pack. I got ALICE 1 LBE that was marked "475TH SP squadron". Stormlion's unit was 374TH SP squadron(I was also at Yokota AB). I remember seeing the 1990's vest and pack in a magazine article, and one can find them as surplus.

Sorry, the Equipment NCO picked them up. I don't even know if we got them from the SP squadron or the supply guys, I was in 374TH Transportation, we probably saw each other around but I only knew the two airmen waiting trial for theft because they were moved to my building, never met any of the good ones. The old packs were in good shape. I like the ALICE over MOLLE myself.

Probably, if it was mid-90's, 95-96 we probably did. I remember some guys being moved to barracks because the cells were full. We only really had two in triple nickel. I've been trying to remember names for weeks for people I was with. And yes, I prefer the ALICE Gear myself as well. I even put together a set to be exactly like what I had when I was in a few years back out of a Army/Navy store. Ended up not being exactly right but its close.

Then I put together a MOLLE set just because I could.

Same here. The plain mesh vests, my friend sets aside the interceptor assault vests for GI's who need to replace one. It's cheaper than buying from supply by 80-90%. For T2013 and later war dates, ALICE might turn up in surprising places. Along with vintage WWII to Vietnam gear and replicas. PC's forming state gaurds might be very surprised.

National Guard and Reserves in Jersey still use ALICE Gear, I know that.
