Gonna be interesting with Morgan Freeman in the lead!

Hmm, I've always found Freeman rather bland, just rather like Keanu Reeves. they have a bit of a personality in some movies but generally they have all the charisma & appeal of a wooden pole, but whatever...

What really bothers me is that the movie version is already being described as an action movie and it's being produced by Revelations (jointly with Bruce Cohen)... it sounds as though this is going to be nothing much more than a vehicle to highlight Freeman the action star (just like Tom Cruise the action star, or Will Smith the action star) rather than a faithful adaptation of the novel.

I'll be interested in seeing how it turns out but I'm not looking forward to it. I'm expecting it to be just like all those other drama/thriller stories that have been clumsily rewritten by Hollywood to be action movies e.g. I, Robot and Minority Report.

Personal prediction is the this adaptation will be pretty much f'ed up. About the only plus is that with Freeman in it, it will have reasonably good production values. But the story will go quickly to a complete anti-american rant.
