Default Cool equipment

I'm sure there have been multiple threads on this sort of thing, but this just popped up on my Youtube and I thought,
"Woe the project would definitely have this once it was invented!"

It's a 20mm grenade launcher designed to turn standard 20mm cannon rounds into a semi auto grenade launcher with an upto 1km range.

My only puzzle, is how the recoil managed so as not to break the shooter's shoulder?

But yeh I could picture most Commando v150s having one of these with a couple of empty clips stowed in the back.

As mentioned in the video, the reason for the grip on the side is to allow space for the receiver to slide back into the shoulder stock to reduce the recoil.

I had some time to revisit this recently and it seems the Neopup PAW-20 is not as good a fit as thought above. The rounds for the RH-202 are 20x139mm rounds, which have a significant neck and shoulder on the case. The rounds used in the Neopup PAW-20 are 20x42mm with straight wall cases. These rounds would not be interchangeable, requiring logistic support for another round. My belief if that the benefits do not outweigh the added logistical overhead.

I think the "standard"-ness was only the projectiles -- which are probably 80% of the cost of a complete cartridge. But yeah, opening a cache and finding yet another type of ammunition your team doesn't need -- not so fun.

20x139mm rounds are used by an autocannon built in South Africa by Demel as a licensed version of the GIAT F2 -- so for the Neopup they were probably able to get their "shorty" rounds relatively cheaply from the factory.

Ever seeing a documentary on these things I figured the project would buy a few, especially if they never got around to buy/building mini drones.

Air superiority is vital and if you haven't got an aircraft it's the best way to see what's over the hill or move one team member with a little gear somewhere important.

One very brave team member.

I also figured most teams would get a crate of these. If wearing armoured overalls the team members would hopefully be protected from the worst effects even at close range. Being a handy way of getting out of being surrounded by ungrateful survivors without killing anyone.

These are interesting. Comes in 4 "flavors": Plain, CS, CN and OC. Is there a compelling reason why you would go with the no irritant grenade versus one that also incorporates OC? Seems like it might be more effective against say large bears than just a burst of rubber balls if you didn't want to kill the bear or needed to drive it away from someone close to the bear and a CNG tank.
