pmulcahy 06-05-2008, 08:26 PM Don't know about the stats, but the associated skill would be Ground Vehicle (Dorky)...

Targan 06-06-2008, 08:10 PM Don't know about the stats, but the associated skill would be Ground Vehicle (Dorky)...I agree with the sentiment Paul but jokes aside the write up indicates it is controlled using a joystick that acts a bit like a motorcycle throttle but reversed so the throttle isn't gunned during braking, and also by leaning in the swing mounted seat. The biggest problems I can see (aside from spectators not taking the operator seriously 'cause the machine look so darned... kooky) are the extreme difficulty in turning at high speed, and the fact that some of the individual components have enormous mass and that would be increased by orders of magnitude once inertia is taken into account. If you had any kind of catastrophic component failure at speed involving the gyro, wheel, chassis, crane or (especially) the enormous lead counterweight you would be in for a world of hurt because all of those components are behind the driver and would tear through the driver's seat like the PLA tears through Tibetan Budhists.
