Default OT - Image size preferences

I am trying to add unit locations to some dynamic maps I am producing. Can you guys help me out by telling me at what size can you differentiate unit type easily.

36 point

32 point

28 point

24 point

20 point

I know it will depend on browser settings and eyesight but I want to get an idea of what would be useful for people.

I'm browsing this via my mobile at the minute and anything down to 24 point is fairly easy to see, although I reckon 28 is probably small enough.

I can differentiate easily on 36 and 32 point.

28 Point is a bit hazy and anything less than that I'm struggling with.

To be fair though my eyesight's not the best

The same for me. The minimum (but still confortable) size would be 28.

I can see the 20 point perfectly, however I do have perfect eyesight - after correction by glasses...

24 would probably be the smallest I'd go, with 28 being the more commonly used.

20 point is too small to make out the unit sizes marked above the icon. Plus, the finer details in 20 are difficult to discern clearly. I can tell what the icon is, but if you're dealing with someone who doesn't know the icons readily, they'd have a problem.

28 point is probably the absolute smallest you'd want to go for the everyday person who's going to have various settings on their computer for screen resolution and various levels of eyesight effectiveness.

My personal recommendation would be 32 point. It won't take up as much space as the larger size and isn't quite an eye strain for some people who might have different settings or different eyesight.

As many already I would say that 28 should be the smallest with 32 being somewhat ideal to me. 36 seems almost oversized while 24 and 20 are a bit small IMO.

Default Ok new files to review.

Overall I think I am going with 32 point. It is a little large when you throw a ton of them on a map but since I needed to add a country indicator and a unit designation that size seems perfect.

I am creating several options for Units. Hopefully they will be selectable by user or map.

Can everybody read these ok?

They look good. The only thing is that the unit size indicator is a little hazy. Can you give us an example of some other sizes - brigades, regiments, corps - to see if they're distinguishable?

I might be able to tweak the font a little to boost the size of the designation marker a bit.

That last one is a tight fit. I may have to reduce the text size.
