So a C130 is rated to carry one LAV-25...
would that be combat loaded, ready to roll into the fight, or empty of everything but air in the tires and enough gas to push it down the cargo ramp onto the tarmac where real prep would begin?
EDIT: A peek at wackypedia's page on the Herk says 42,000 lbs. cargo and the LAV25 is listed at 12.8 tons (25,600lbs) and that the LAV is 20ft. long...so doing some back of the envelope calculations, the cargo bay of the 130 is 41 feet long...leaving a comfortable 21 feet for another potential 16000lbs of other stuff. "Good...good." Last edited by raketenjagdpanzer; 10-25-2011 at 04:37 PM. |
